Who should pick which
Scissors for daily jobs
Pick the Leatherman Wingman when the gift is for someone who reaches for scissors or opens packages regularly. It also lists a 420HC combo knife. Start with those jobs before counting the other implements.
A saw for the kit
Pick the Leatherman Sidekick when a saw is on the recipient's must-have list. It also lists separate 420HC knife and serrated knife implements. That tool mix is the reason to choose it over scissors, rather than expecting a smaller or lighter tool.
Check the missing tool before wrapping
Ask which implement the recipient keeps borrowing: scissors or a saw. Both tools list a replaceable pocket clip, and both sell the sheath separately. Add a sheath only if that is how the recipient wants to carry the gift. If the missing implement is essential, do not buy the other tool just because the overall sizes match.
Check availability
Confirm the product name and included items on the product page before buying. A gift should match the tool the recipient wants.
